The only amateur Rugby League match in the country to take place today, as the freezing temperatures continue to bite, went the way of RECKITTS, who accounted for HOLDERNESS VIKINGS 38-18 in the HULL ARL’S GMB UNION TOM BEAUTIMAN CUP FINAL at Haworth Park.
Reckitts brushed aside the fifth-minute sin-binning of Australian prop Mike Skelly, responding to an earlier John McCloud penalty with a try and three goals by scrum-half Joe Williams and touchdowns to second row Ashley Simpson and Aussie centre Jake Learsmouth to establish an 18-2 interval lead.
Holderness hit back with a try in the 45th minute by back row man Ben Billany, which McCloud improved, but Reckitts reasserted their authority with touchdowns by the hour for benchman Karl Spooner and, with his hat-trick scores, Learsmouth, two of which Williams converted.
Reckitts closed their account when Simpson powered over seven minutes from time, and McCloud’s try and goal in response was nothing other than a consolation effort.
Learsmouth was voted man of the match, edging the award from Joe Williams and Skelly.

BOCM for Bransholme
BRANSHOLME DALES are the new holders of the HULL & DISTRICT ARL’S GMB UNION BOCM CUP.
The Dales beat PARKERS 37-18 at West Hull’s W Simpson Park in a game in which there was no score until scrum-half Dave Paul and prop Alex Moody crossed in the 28th and 32nd minutes respectively, stand-off Shaun Skelton adding each goal.
Parkers wasted two gilt-edged opportunities in reply, loose forward Lee Walton and fullback Kris Parker both kicking with men free outside, and Skelton rubbed salt into the wound with a drop goal on the cusp of half-time to establish a 13-0 interval lead.
Paul added a second try two minutes into the second period, Skelton again improving, and there was no way back for a Parkers outfit that had lost centre Mike Martinez, hooker Mike Benn and second row Rich Brown in the first half.
Walton, substitute Stu Taylor and winger Gareth Bennett crossed as the side at last hit form, Parker converting each effort.
But Bransholme, whose captain Alex Moody was man of the match, stayed out of sight with touchdowns to fullback Dale Clemitshaw, hooker Anthony Rhodes and winger Mike Beecher. Skelton completed a six-goal haul.

A Crown for Sutton
The GMB Union Hull & District ARL has a new name playing in the Premier Division this season writes Joe Kemp. A new name maybe, but not a new team. It is the new name Sutton Trust ARL will now be known as.
Trust were formed twenty years ago by assistant coach, Alan Bird, who will continue in this role alongside head coach, Lance Robins.
Trust will be leaving the old name behind after having a very successful season last year, gaining promotion to the Premier Division, finishing in the top four and indeed winning the play offs in an epic match against Parkers.
Lance is hoping to carry on with this success under the new guise of The Crown ARL, who's owners Dave Carter and Mick Wilson, affectionately known as "Willo", are the new sponsors and are both avid rugby league supporters, the last time Mick ran a rugby team from the Crown, Holderness Road, they had a very successful team running from there.
Already new signings are joining the club, Lee Brown has joined brother Jason along with Luke Spenceley and Jamie McCracken, ex player, Neil Booth is taking over the secretary's role from long standing Dick Needler, who due to ill health is standing down. The club would like to thank Dick for his many years of service.
The Crown ARL team will still be playing from Farbell Place and kick off their season on September 12th with a tasty clash against champions Orchard Park Greenwood, hopefully their strong fan base will continue and follow them to the new pub.
