Minutes silence for Brown
The Pennine League management would like to offer the sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Chris Brown writes Jamie Hobbs.
The 24 year old received serious head injuries in an accidental clash of heads in his team Silsden Park Rangers, opening Pennine Division Five fixture versus Meltham All Blacks on Saturday 5th of September. Brown, became unconscious at the time and was taken to Airedale General Hospital A&E before being transferred to Leeds General Infirmary.
An emergency operation to reduce pressure was performed but Chris’s condition never improved and he didn’t regain consciousness. On Wednesday (16th Sept) evening Chris passed away peacefully in his bed surrounded by his family and very close friends.
Stuart Brown, the Pennine League President, said : “This is truly tragic news and our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Chris as well as the Silsden Park Rangers Club.
“Our thoughts and sympathies are with all those involved at this devastating time. We ask all our member clubs to observe a minutes silence in respect of Chris at the earliest possible fixture.”
